So tonight was Meet the Teacher night at school. And what an exciting night it was! We started out in the library (wear Isaiah wanted to get a book sooo bad) and went over all the rules as far as payments, attendance policy, and that fun stuff! Then off to find the classrooms we went! I'm telling you, schools down here are NOTHING like back home, lol! So much more open and outside-sy. It's like big long buildings that have classrooms on either side. But they have breezeways between the buildings. I imagine it's waay more cost effective when it comes to cooling them in this horrible heat!
But anyway.... So far Isaiah loves it. His teacher is soo nice and his classroom is full of toys, computers, art supplies, and everything a 4y/o could ask for! And of course, right outside their rooms is the pre-k playground! Boy is he going to be in heaven come recess time (although due to TS Fay, he probably won't get any recess the first week of school, he's going to be soo bummed). Oh and his teacher had the cutest bags ever for the parents. The "Pre-k Parent Survival Kit" for us [parents to use on the first day of school. Inside there was a travel pack of tissues and a handful of hersey kisses! No doubt I'll be using both, lol!
Tomorrow we're off to finish getting school stuff (of course they give us a list tonight of things they need Wed. when school starts). But it's pretty easy stuff (cups, wipes, glue, snacks for 18 kids, lol).
And I'm pretty sure it's safe to say Isaiah is the tallest kid in his class and Mike is probably bigger than 50% of the class. We had 2 parents mistake him as a pre-k'er (due to size and the fact he was reading off all the letters all over the room and the sounds they make). And for Mike, oh boy, he's going to be so lost without Isaiah around! Poor guy!
Well, enough rambling tonight. I'll have tons of pics come Wed!
